
FujinDescription:
Fujin stands before the visage of an Elder God, and says that now that the forces of light are victorious, he must return to his duties as God of wind. The Elder God replies that they have a new mission for him. Raiden appears and tells Fujin that he is
Raiden's choice to succeed him as Earth's protector God. Fujin accepts the honor, and Raiden reminds him to give Earthrealm's mortals his guidance and wisdom, as they are a great race but prone to self-destruction. Fujin bids Raiden farewell and says he
will not fail.
Dialogue:
Fujin: "Our forces of light have defeated Shinnok. Now I must return to my duties as Earth's God of Wind."
Elder God: "You have served your element well, Fujin, but we have a new mission for you."
Fujin: "Raiden?"
Raiden: "Our battle with Shinnok's forces is over. I must move on to my new position as an Elder God, and you, Fujin, you must take my former position as protector of Earth."
Fujin: "Raiden, it would be my honor to succeed you."
Raiden: "Take special care of the mortals of Earth. They are a great people, but have the ability to self destruct. Be patient, and offer your wisdom and guidance."
Fujin: "Farewell, Thunder God. I will not fail you."
Raiden: "That is why I picked you."
JarekDescription:
Sonya confronts Jarek on a cliff side, telling him that with Shinnok's defeat, it's time for him to be taken into custody. Jarek scoffs, saying he agreed to help defeat Shinnok, but never to surrender himself. He declares the Black Dragon lives on, while
Sonya retorts that the Black Dragon died with Kano. Jarek charges her in anger, and she steps aside, allowing him to fall over the edge. Before she can report to Jax, Jarek pulls himself up from the cliff, grabs her leg, and throws her over the edge. Jarek
then walks away, crushing Sonya's radio under his foot.
Dialogue:
Sonya: "It's over, Jarek! Shinnok is dead. The good guys won. You're coming back with me."
Jarek: "Never, Sonya. I agreed to help defeat Shinnok, not turn myself in to the Special Forces. The Black Dragon live on!"
Sonya: "The Black Dragon died with Kano. You're the last one, Jarek."
Jarek: "Never!"
Sonya: "Come in, Major Briggs. This is Lieutenant Sonya Blade - "
Jax: "Sonya, this is Major Briggs. Come in. Sonya, this is Jax. Are you there? Sonya?"
JaxDescription:

Jax: "Too late, Jarek!"
Jarek: "You can't drop me! You have to uphold the law. You have to arrest me. Wait! Wait! This is brutality! You can't do it!"
Jax: "Wrong, Jarek! This is not a brutality... This is a fatality!"
Johnny CageDescription:
Johnny accepts an award for his latest movie. Thanking all of his fans, a bit of his old arrogance seeps through, and he asks when he's going to get some real competition. The audience responds with boos and jeers, with some throwing tomatoes and other
items at him.
Dialogue:
Johnny Cage: "Hello?"
Johnny Cage: "Wow. I don't know what to say. I guess I can start by thanking all my fans out there."
Johnny Cage: "Well, that's enough of the mushy stuff. I mean, let's get real here, huh? When am I gonna get some real competition?"
Johnny Cage: "C'mon. Don't get silent now. Where are all the cheers?"
Johnny Cage: "Hey! Wait a minute! I'm your #1 guy. I'm gonna remember this!"
Johnny Cage: "Ow! Okay, now I'm mad! Hey, c'mon! Quit it! Ow! I saw that, Arnold! Hey, cut it out!"
KaiDescription:
Kai is standing on the side of a cliff when Raiden appears before him, stating that he has become a true Shaolin warrior. Kai thanks Raiden, but says he has no interest in becoming a Shaolin warrior anymore, due to having too many of his own problems.
Raiden asks Kai what he will do next, and Kai answers non-committally. Raiden offers Kai his thunderstaff, stating that it will help him on his path, including possibly unlocking immortality. Kai thanks Raiden for the gift, and swears he will not fail
the Thunder God.
Dialogue:
Raiden: "You fought well, Kai. You are now a true Shaolin Warrior."
Kai: "Thanks, Raiden, but I'm not interested in becoming a Shaolin Warrior anymore. I've got too many of my own problems to deal with."
Raiden: "What will you do next?"
Kai: "I don't know. Wander the earth, search for my soul, that kind of thing."
Raiden: "Well, perhaps you could use this on your journey."
Kai: "Your lightning staff?"
Raiden: "It holds the power of thunder and lightning. Wield it wisely, for it can show you the way to immortality. You've earned it."
Kai: "Thank you, Raiden. I will not fail."
Liu KangDescription:
Liu Kang despairs as he believes that while he defeated Shinnok and saved Earth, he was unable to save Edenia. A portal appears and Kitana steps through, telling him that his defeat of Shinnok freed her world. In gratitude, Kitana offers him her hand in
marriage to rule Edenia by her side. Saddened, Liu Kang declines, unable to set aside his duty as Earth's champion. Kitana wishes him well and departs.
Dialogue:
Liu Kang: "The war is over. I have once again defended my tile as Champion of Mortal Kombat, and defended the realm of Earth, but have failed to save the realm of Edenia, and in doing so I have also lost Kitana... forever."
Liu Kang: "Kitana?"
Kitana: "Yes, Liu Kang, it is I."
Liu Kang: "But, I thought you were going to - "
Kitana: "With Shinnok's destruction, you have not only saved the Earth, but you have also saved my own realm. For that, I can never repay you."
Liu Kang: "Knowing that you survived is all that I need."
Kitana: "As heir to the throne of my realm, I offer you the chance to rule at my side, as King of Edenia...forever."
Liu Kang: "I... cannot accept your offer. I belong here on Earth as Champion of Mortal Kombat."
Kitana: "Then, I wish you good luck, Liu Kang, on all your journeys."
Liu Kang: "Goodbye, Princess Kitana."
Quan ChiDescription:
Shinnok tells Quan Chi that as payment for his services, he will be granted the right to exist, as he will devour every other life force in existence. Insulted, Quan Chi retorts that if it wasn't for him, Shinnok would be just another prisoner in the Netherrealm.
Shinnok rages that Quan Chi dares question him, to which Quan Chi replies he is challenging the god. Shinnok attempts to kill Quan Chi, to no effect. Quan Chi then reveals the amulet he gave Shinnok was a fake, and that he kept the real amulet. He then
uses Shinnok's own amulet to destroy the fallen god.
Dialogue:
Shinnok: "As payment for your loyal services, Quan Chi, I grant you the gift of your existence."
Quan Chi: "My existence?"
Shinnok: "Understand, sorcerer, I consume all energies, including the life forces of all that live, but I shall spare you."
Quan Chi: "If it weren't for me, you would still be a tortured soul, rotting in the pits of the Netherrealm."
Shinnok: "You dare question me!?"
Quan Chi: "I do more than question you, Shinnok. I challenge you!"
Shinnok: "Then you shall die!"
Shinnok: "What!?"
Quan Chi: "Your powers are useless against me!"
Shinnok: "How can this be?"
Quan Chi: "I am in possession of your once-sacred amulet. Years ago, I delivered to you an exact duplicate, while I retained the original. I even fooled Raiden. Now I am ruler supreme, and you, Elder God, are finished!"
Shinnok: "Nooooo!"
RaidenDescription:
Rising back to the Heavens, Raiden finds himself before the Elder Gods. Noting his ages of service protecting Earthrealm from evil, they offer him a place among the Elder Gods, and tell him he must pick his successor as Earthrealm's protector. Raiden tells
the Elder Gods his choice is Fujin.
Dialogue:
Elder God: "Raiden, for many ages you have protected the Earth realm from the forces of evil. You have earned your place among us. With your ascension into the pantheon of Elder Gods, you must choose your successor as the new protector of Earth."
Raiden: "With the aid of Earth's mortals, I have once again managed to defeat Shinnok and his minions. I choose Fujin. He will guide the mortals of Earth as they move into the next millennium."
ReikoDescription:
A mysterious portal opens before Reiko, and he walks silently through it...
...entering a throne room in the Netherrealm with a throne bearing the mark of the Brotherhood of Shadow. Reiko takes his seat upon the throne, and the helmet of Shao Kahn descends upon his head.

With Shinnok now victorious, Reptile kneels before Quan Chi and requests that he be sent back in time to his homeworld before it was taken over by Shao Kahn. Quan Chi dismisses the request as impetuous, raising Reptile's ire. Shinnok appears before Reptile,
overpowering him. When Reptile tries to remind Shinnok that they had a deal, Shinnok contemptuously replies that he is not a god of his word, killing Reptile instantly.
Dialogue:
Reptile: "Quan Chi. I have served our lord Shinnok well in the destruction of Earth's warriors."
Quan Chi: "Yes. We are most appreciative of your efforts."
Reptile: "Now I wish to return in time to my home world before it was destroyed at the hands of Shao Kahn. As the new ruler supreme of all reality, Shinnok alone has the power to grant me this wish."
Quan Chi: "You dare make such impetuous requests from your lord and master!?"
Reptile: "It is a simple request for one of such great power."
Quan Chi: "It is also not worth his attention!"
Reptile: "I demand it! If it were not for warriors such as myself, his attack on Raiden's forces would have failed!"
Quan Chi: "Perhaps you could convey your feelings to Shinnok, himself."
Reptile: "What!?"
Shinnok: "Infidel! You are in no position to demand anything! I could kill you with a mere thought!"
Reptile: "But, we had a deal!"
Shinnok: "A deal!? I am not a god of my word, Reptile! All deals are off!"
ScorpionDescription:
Scorpion confronts and defeats Sub-Zero in combat. Scorpion declares he is finally avenging his family, only to be confused when Sub-Zero emphatically asserts he was not responsible for their deaths. Quan Chi, having no further use for the specter, tells
Scorpion the truth: he killed Scorpion's family and clan. When Quan Chi attempts to send him back to the Netherrealm, Scorpion charges the sorcerer and grabs him, forcing both back to the deepest planes of the dark realm.
Dialogue:
Scorpion: "By defeating you, Sub-Zero, I have avenged the death of my family and clan. Now my soul can finally rest."
Sub-Zero: "Your soul will never rest, Scorpion. The Lin Kuei may have been responsible for your murder, but your family's true killer still remains free."
Scorpion: "If you are not the murderer, then who is?"
Quan Chi: "I am the one you seek. To defeat my nemesis Sub-Zero, I needed the power of a specter. You've done my bidding well, Scorpion, but now I must return you to the Netherrealm."
Scorpion: "Never!"
Quan Chi: "Noooooo!"
ShinnokDescription:
Shinnok holds Raiden helpless in an energy field, raging that the Thunder God caused his suffering and that the mortals of Earthrealm will pay the price. Raiden defiantly declares that, as a traitor to his fellow Elder Gods, Shinnok deserves much worse.
Shinnok gloats that with the Elder Gods gone, their power now courses through him. Bidding a mocking farewell to Raiden, Shinnok obliterates him with a blast of energy.
Dialogue:
Shinnok: "For millions of years, I suffered in the bowels of the Netherrealm. You, Thunder God, are responsible for my suffering. Now, the piteous mortals of Earth will pay for my grievance!"
Raiden: "You turned against your fellow Elder Gods. You betrayed your title. You deserve much worse!"
Shinnok: "But it's too late, Raiden. I win! With the Elder Gods out of the way, I will take my rightful place as ruler of all eternity. I can already feel the power surging from within!"
Raiden: "You're mad!"
Shinnok: "Farewell, Thunder God!"

Sub-Zero confronts Scorpion and defeats him, but Scorpion vows to kill him for murdering his clan and family. Quan Chi sucker punches Sub-Zero from behind, and reveals that Scorpion was serving him in exchange for freedom... A deal he had no intention
of honoring. While Quan Chi gloats that both ninjas served Shinnok's purposes, Scorpion recovers and uses his powers to kill the sorcerer. Scorpion departs, declaring Sub-Zero free from his curse.
Dialogue:
Sub-Zero: "The battle is finished. Your quest for vengeance is over, Scorpion!"
Scorpion: "You cannot kill a dead man. You have defeated my physical form, but my soul is eternal! You will pay for the massacre of my clan and family!"
Quan Chi: "Well done, Sub-Zero. Like your brother before you, you've served my purposes well."
Sub-Zero: "I serve no one - not the Lin Kuei, and not you!"
Quan Chi: "Scorpion agreed to fight for us in exchange for freedom from the Netherrealm - a deal I had no intention of fulfilling. By killing him, you've saved us the trouble. Both you and Scorpion were pawns for Shinnok!"
Quan Chi: "Scorpion! Noooo!"
Scorpion: "Our battle is finished. You are now freed from my curse. Live well, Lin Kuei warrior."
TanyaDescription:
Tanya asks Liu Kang to follow her, claiming that Raiden has asked her to lead Liu Kang to him. Liu follows, asking about his friends. Tanya replies that Raiden has something special planned for them. Upon turning the corner, Liu Kang asks Tanya what is
happening, and Tonya gloats that she led him into a trap. Liu is confronted by Quan Chi and Shinnok, who inform him that Raiden and his friends are dead. Quan Chi asks Liu Kang if he wishes to beg for mercy from Shinnok. Lou defiantly refuses and attacks
Shinnok, only to be killed by a blast of energy.
Dialogue:
Tanya: "Follow me, Liu Kang. Raiden has asked that I lead you to him."
Liu Kang: "What about the others?"
Tanya: "He has something special planned for them."
Liu Kang: Tanya, what's going on?"
Tanya: "I don't know what Kitana saw in you. Can't you see, Liu Kang? This is a trap!"
Quan Chi: "Welcome, Shaolin Warrior. Your Thunder God is beaten, Earth's warriors destroyed. You are the last remnant of the forces of light. Do you wish to beg for mercy from your new master, the Lord Shinnok?"
Liu Kang: "Never, sorcerer!"
Shinnok: "Fool!"
